After downloading CallControl you should prepare your Asterisk® server for CallControl.
You need to activate "Asterisk Manager Interface" (AMI).
For most Asterisk® PBXs that means you need to edit the /etc/asterisk/manager.conf file.
Open the file using your favorite editor and set the contents of the file to the following:
displaysystemname = yes
enabled = yes
port = 5038
bindaddr = 0.0.0.0
writetimeout = 1000
secret = password
read = all,call
write = all,originate,call
That's what the lines above do:
[general] - is a kind of "heading" for the general options for the Asterisk Manager Interface (AMI)
displaysystemname = yes - displays the name of the Asterisk to CallControl. This has to be yes.
enabled = yes - enables the Asterisk Manager Interface. This has to be yes.
port = 5038 - Set this to the TCP port you want to use for the Asterisk Manager Interface (AMI). Standard is 5038
bindaddr = 0.0.0.0 - Which IP shall the Asterisk Manager Interface listen on. Set this to 0.0.0.0 in most setups.
[<username>] - Insert your username into the brackets e.g. [johndorian]
secret = password - Insert your password here. e.g. secret = mypassword
read = all,originate,call - Your access rights for reading in the Asterisk Manager Interface
write = all,originate,call - Your access rights for writing in the Asterisk Manager Interface
Restart your Asterisk server after setting up the manager.conf and start configuring CallControl.
